Staff Announcements
Hey, everyone,
So, I've been seeing a lot of discussions around "Heroes of the Road," most of them filled with praise, and I don't blame any one of you. It was such a wonderful episode.
I know what you're expecting me to say, don't share spoilers around the wiki or its Discussions until the Spoiler templates have been removed a week after the premiere, but no, that's not it, actually.
After careful consideration, I realize that the rule is too strict because, well, for one thing, the PJ Masks Wiki is absolutely a spoiler wonderland because of all the details shared on the pages - images, quotes, trivia points, you name it. Also, a couple of days after someone provides an episode link to those who are not able to watch the episodes by any means, after a couple of days, pretty much everyone was able to watch them.
That being said, I'm deciding to change the spoiler rule a bit.
Same as before, if you see a spoiler template on a page, details are not to be shared until it has been removed a week after the episode premiere, unless if it's edited on the page. Then you can discuss it, but without giving any other major details.
However, and this is where the change comes in, that rule is only limited to comment sections on pages that have the spoiler template. Any other pages that don't have a spoiler template, you can feel free to share what you've witnessed. And yes, that includes Discussions. Share details, share your thoughts, have fun! If you want, you can put "Spoiler Alert" for those who don't want to see spoilers, but it's optional. I'm not going to go crazy over that.
I'll be updating the guidelines in the very near future, but as of now, the previous Spoiler rule is now null and void, and the new one is now taking effect. I deeply apologize for any inconveniences that the previous rule has made, and I hope this new rule will give you some more freedom.
Happy discussing!
Just Updated
Guys,
Please stop utilizing Discussions for asking where the episode links are. Whoever provides the links now, they will come with time; you just need to wait. An episode link provided late is better than an episode link not being provided at all.
And before you say it, yes, I get that some of you have no other means of watching the episodes other than the provided links. However, it does get to a point where it starts getting spammy and annoying, and when the episode "The Power of Mystery Mountain" premiered, that was really thin-line close because there were multiple questions asking the same exact thing all day.
All future discussions and posts asking about the contents will be deleted. Seriously, guys. Some of you need to learn how to be patient.
Two announcements for today:
First, almost a month ago, I made an announcement about spoilers in the wiki, especially since we have a couple of episodes that have been released earlier in a foreign country, that they were not to be shared anywhere. That includes in Discussions.
However, I keep finding comments mentioning a particular spoiler from an episode yet to be released in the United States from a couple of users.
We get it, depending on whether you’ve seen it or not, you’re excited about what happened / or what’s going to happen in an episode, but as long as the Spoiler templates are on the pages, we can’t allow you to share that information widely in the wiki until a week has passed after the United States premiere date.
We can make an exception, but this will be as far as we can allow it: if there is a detail that is mentioned on a page, you can discuss it in the comment section on that page itself without giving any other major details away, given that you’ve watched the episode. If that detail is not mentioned on the page, then don’t share it.
Otherwise, if you want to discuss any upcoming / recently premiered episodes, please do so privately until the Spoiler templates are removed. We don’t want to have to start giving warnings / blocks to other users if this rule keeps being ignored. To be fair, since there are some users who don’t use Discussions, if there is a comment containing a spoiler, and it doesn’t meet the exception, it will be edited, and a response will be left behind to let them of the rule.
Now the next announcement:
For those who are not aware, roleplaying and shipping topics are not allowed to be discussed on this wiki, but on the PJ Masks Fanon Wiki instead since this is a wiki meant for legitimate information only. That means no fanon material is allowed to be discussed here. However, there were some outside discussions on whether or not creating ideas for episodes counted as fanon material as well. Ultimately, we came to the conclusion that unfortunately, it does, because, of course, the ideas are created by the fans themselves, and not officially created by the show or its producers themselves.
So therefore, and we’re sorry to say this, but we can’t allow any ideas to be discussed here anymore. If you want to share your ideas, you can go over to the PJ Masks Fanon Wiki and do that instead. You can create pages there relating to your ideas. Just be sure to look at the guidelines and ask the administrators there if you have any questions. But any future ideas shared anywhere in this wiki, including Discussions, will be removed.
The guidelines will be updated in the coming future to reflect what has been announced.
Recently, there was an episode confirmed that didn't air in the United States, but in another country, which is quite rare. Last time this happened, it was with the rest of the Season 2 episodes after "PJ Dylan / Armadylan'd and Dangerous" aired. I don't know why, just instances like these very rarely happen, at least in here. (Note: the title and its airdate are pending to be announced, more information about that here.)
However, I do need to address this, because we have been ignoring this for a very long time. Each time an episode is announced and pages relating to the episode are created, the Spoiler notification is posted on top. And here is what one of the statements on there says:
"Do not post comments containing spoilers or otherwise major plot details in the comments of this page until this template has been removed or the comment will be deleted."
That being said, from this point moving forward, we are going to have to start monitoring comments containing spoilers about any upcoming episodes that have yet to be released in the US, but have released earlier in other countries / recently premiered episodes released in the US until the template is removed one week after the air date (I usually remove them on the next Friday at 12:00 AM EST). If your comment contains any spoilers or major plot details, it will be subject to delete.
This will also be applied to comments on any pages and discussion posts. If you really want to share any information or ask someone about it, we would suggest you do so in a private message, preferably outside of here.
If you have access to the episode and want to share some images, you can do so by uploading them to the respective galleries. Keep in mind, though, that if there are black bars on the side, ensure that they are cropped out. Make sure the images are also clear. There should be a setting on each video that displays the quality options. Select the highest one available.
As I said before, we're going to start monitoring comments containing any spoilers, so please be mindful of what you post.
Edit: I should also mention this. I know it's not related to the topic presented here, but...
Please keep all conversations and posts related to the PJ Masks series or its wiki. This goes for page comments and discussion posts. This is not a social media site. If your thread is off-topic, it will be deleted.
Hi, everyone,
I'm leaving this important announcement regarding any information about any voice actors / actresses, because I keep seeing the same things throughout Season 5's run.
Just like confirming any episodes, please make sure you provide a source on which voice actor / actress is voicing which character. If there are no sources providing that information, but a character has appeared in a future episode where he or she sounds like the other characters a voice actor / actress voiced, then please provide an explanation of the comparison.
Assumptions are not accepted. If the character has not yet appeared in an episode, don't add who you think is going to voice him / her based on what you heard. Just because the voice actor / actress sounds like the character doesn't mean he / she is going to voice him / her. The character needs to be present in order to make that confirmation. And concerning sources, if the information is either unsupported or supported by an unreliable website, then it will be considered false / unconfirmed information, and it will be removed.
It's hard enough that the credits don't provide who is voicing who, but it's getting irritating to see multiple changes for each page (i.e., the voice actor is voicing this character one time, the next time, the voice actor is actually voicing that character). That's going to give the impression that you don't actually know who voices who, provided that you have little to no sources.
Due to information discrepancy, the Season 5 voice actor / actress pages have been protected for some time now, but I don't want to have to do the same for those of Season 6, and for other pages that were subject to this incident. If this keeps happening, however, I may have to resort to that option. Please don't let it get to that destination.
Edit: Forgot to add this in - as always, if a page needs to be edited, and it's protected, please let an administrator know of the edit that should be made. If there is any information about a voice actor / episode, please make sure you provide a source / explanation (for cast members whose character has appeared). Remember to keep in mind what has been said earlier. If nothing or an unreliable source is given, then it won't be considered, and we will check whether if the source is legitimate or not, so don't think that the information will be automatically added in just because you gave the link for support.
Hello, everyone,
Since Season 5 is premiering very soon, I thought this would be a good time to share a few check-ups and updates.
Discussions:
A small update will be made to the categories. There have been a few posts sharing some PJ Masks-related creations, some of which pertain to art works, edits, replications, etc. Such posts have been located to the General category, so now, there will be a new category named Creative in which you can place them. Memes do not count, though. They belong in the Fun and Games category.
The News and Announcements category is now renamed to News so that users can share PJ Masks-related news such as new episodes, new characters, new vehicles, new merchandise, and any events. However, this is not the category for you to spread news about your own PJ Masks-related news. News must be official.
As for the Wiki Staff Updates category, it is now renamed to Staff Announcements, but it's still limited to the administrators only. Please use the other categories for your posts.
Speaking of using categories, please make sure you're placing your posts in the right category. The descriptions for each category are located in the Discussion Guidelines, which are on the page and located on the bottom left corner while creating your post. If a post is not in the correct category, it will be moved to the correct one, and an advisory will be sent out if this happens a few times. Also, make sure your posts have sufficient information (at least 3 sentences) for them to stay here. If the requirement is not met, it will be subject to deletion.
FANDOM Desktop:
Yeah, everyone should at least know by now about FANDOM Desktop. There was an announcement sent out by FANDOM Staff that the platform will replace the retiring Oasis legacy platform, there was an option to preview the change, and when you log out, it's already placed.
Needless to say, most people don't like the platform, but unfortunately, the editors are not being listened to, so besides trying to send complaints, all of us have no choice but to work our way around it once it comes and to try making the wiki as presentable as it can be.
What I remember when FANDOM updated the wiki to UCP, everything was shut down. No one could comment or edit. I'm not sure if this will be true when the wiki gets updated, but if it does, this might be the reason why, so keep that in mind.
Commenting Problems:
I've gotten messages from a couple of users saying that they are not able to comment on pages anymore. They can still edit and send discussion posts. If you are one of the users that have this problem, then please contact FANDOM, and they can try and help fix it. If they can't, then I can allow you to create a new account for the purpose of commenting again while you edit on your previous account.
There is a guideline about using only one account, unless if the problem is major; then something can be worked out. This is one of those times. If you plan to create a new account because of the existing problem mentioned here, then please let us know first before you contribute. That way, we don't assume you just created a new account for no legitimate reason.
It also helps to verify your account through your e-mail. Just follow the directions, and you'll be good to go.
Season 5:
Last, but definitely not least, Season 5, which, as I said, is coming very soon. A few months ago, I sent out an announcement relating to future episode uploads and page updates, so hopefully, most of you have read it, but if not, it's provided here for your convenience.
And that's pretty much it for now. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact an administrator or reply to this post here, and we will get back to you as soon as we can. Also utilize our Feedback/Suggestions category if you have any feedback/suggestions for us to consider.
Thanks, guys, and enjoy the new season!
Hello, everyone,
So we've been noticing this happen a few times as a premiere date appears. While there are some people who do it to a lesser degree, there are others that do it often. Now, this is not just directed towards the wiki users.
@Babbybluee21 , @GhoulGirls90 , if you want, feel free to post this on your Community Tab page (if applicable).
The users I mentioned here, as far as I know, are the ones who upload new episodes during the premiere date. And we all appreciate them for taking the time to do so. However, I'm sure they would appreciate it even more if we respect that they do it on their own time.
Everyone, we understand that some people have no means of watching the new episodes any other way besides YouTube, whether they don't have access to DisneyNOW, they live in a different country, etc. And we understand that people want to watch the episodes as soon as possible. But when people start complaining about the episodes not being uploaded yet, then that's problematic.
We don't know what's happening right now in their lives. Are they sleeping, do they have school, are they busy with something else, is there anything important? What about the circumstances? Is there a possible circumstance that plays a part in uploading episodes?
When taking note of all these criteria, they have enough stress to deal with. And for people to ask them constantly when the episodes will be uploaded and/or complain about them not being uploaded yet, that puts more stress on them, and it's not fair. Put yourself in their shoes for a moment: how would you feel if you had some people do either of those things when you have other circumstances going on?
Just so we're clear, not everyone does this. There are some people who wait patiently or ask occasionally, but there are others who ask constantly or complain. And if you're one of the people doing the latter (especially on the wiki, because we are aware of a couple of users with those reactions), well, try to reflect on what has been asked.
For those who contribute to the wiki, this situation applies to episode page updates as well. Not everyone spends their time on FANDOM every day. They have other things going on outside as well. (And before you say anything, yes, I do spend my time on FANDOM as well, but I do have my reasons, and I do have other things going on outside of here.)
Give people time to catch the episodes on their own circumstances. Don't comment things such as "when will the page be updated?," "it has been (whatever hours), and nothing's been updated," or "this has been uploaded, but nothing else has been added yet." And if you're told to be patient when asked, don't respond with "fine, but it has been (whatever hours)," because that's not going to quell the situation.
Everyone, please be appreciative and respectful to those that utilize their time to either upload the episodes or update the pages. As mentioned before, we do understand people are excited, and/or people may not have any other way to watch the episodes, but it's only fair that we respect them and their circumstances each time a premiere date arrives.
Your cooperation is always appreciated.
Hello, everyone,
There were a couple of concerns about the Questions and Answers, Ideas and Theories, and Thoughts/Opinions categories.
After careful consideration, the Questions and Answers category will be deleted. The reason being is that it's too general; while, according to the Discussion Guidelines, all questions should be meant for the Questions and Answers category, there are questions that could be asking users about any ideas, theories, thoughts, or opinions they may have, meaning they could fit in either category. For questions about the wiki, it's probably good enough to utilize the comment sections as appropriate for the pages and Message Walls.
So, with that in mind, if you're asking questions that pertain to any ideas and theories about the show, please place those in the Ideas and Theories category. If you you're asking questions that pertain to any thoughts or opinions about the show, please place those in the Thoughts/Opinions.
As for existing posts in the Questions and Answers category from April 30 on, they will be moved to the correct categories. Posts before that time will be organized at a later date; they'll be placed in the General category for the time being.
For posts in the Fun and Games category, they don't need to meet the three sentence requirement. All posts in other categories, though, will need to meet said requirement.
As always, I highly encourage everyone to ask any questions about the Discussion Guidelines. If you want to give any feedback or suggestions, please utilize the Feedback/Suggestions category. And keep an eye on this post, because you never know if there may be any more updates about the guidelines.
Thanks, guys,
Hello, everyone,
There are a couple of updates regarding Discussions, so please take the time to read this announcement!
We are adding new guidelines for discussion posts, but don't worry! Most of the rules are the same as what you see on the PJ Masks Wiki, specifically the Basic Guidelines and Guidelines for Blog Posts. However, there is one more rule that we'll be implementing.
If you take a look at the Category Activity, there are a couple new categories added (and no, we did not delete any previous discussion posts - there is a failsafe where all posts in a category prior to deletion will be moved to an existing category).
Starting May 10th, we will be requiring users to place each post in an appropriate category that is related to the topic you want to talk about. This is so discussion posts can be organized, and users will know what to expect what's placed in each category, especially since we've noticed a few posts in the past that have been placed in the wrong categories.
How do I know which category should I place my post in? When you create a post, scroll over to Guidelines located on the lower left corner. Scroll down to the Requirements section, and a list of categories along with their descriptions will help guide you. However, if you still need clarification, please ask one of the staff members, and they will help you out. Two of the categories, though, which are Wiki Staff Updates and News and Announcements, are reserved for the PJ Masks Wiki Staff Team only, so please refrain from using those categories.
Speaking of the PJ Masks Wiki Staff Team, of course, we will be monitoring Discussions, mainly myself and Raspberry30, but also joining with us officially as of April 30, 2021 will be Babbybluee21 as a Discussions Moderator. A Discussions Moderator, according to FANDOM, is a user who has additional tools available to manage conversations in various features across the community where users are having discussions. Those tools are:
Removing and restoring threads and replies by any user
Closing and reopening replies
Manage Discussions categories, and move posts from one category to another
Deleting blog comments
Editing and deleting article comments
She has been a very helpful contributor on the wiki in the past, and we are very lucky to have her as part of the PJ Masks Wiki Staff Team, so congratulations, Babby, and welcome to the team!
As mentioned earlier, we will enact the guidelines for Discussion Posts on May 10th. This is so everyone can get accustomed and use this chance to ask questions. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact any of us, and we can try to clear things up.
Thanks, guys, and happy discussing!
Hey, everyone,
So, we've seen a couple of users recently ask if the PJ Masks Wiki has a Discord server. Another question we've heard is if one can be created.
To answer both questions, the response is no.
No, the PJ Masks Wiki does not have a Discord server, and no, there are no plans to create one in the future. The reason why is because this is not a very active wiki, and the server will most likely die out pretty quickly after its creation.
If that were not the case, it would need to be run by either one of the members of the administration team, or someone who we can trust and who can take full responsibility of handling the server. And it would need to be declared official through the administration team.
I'm sorry for the inconvenience, but that's how it unfortunately is.
So, everyone has noticed by now that you can report messages thanks to the UCP platform.
To report a message, if you look on the top right corner of each message, there are three dots stacked on top of each other. Click on it, and a dropdown menu will appear. The Report button is the last option on the list. Just click on it, and a message will pop up saying that it has been reported. The administration team has the Reported tool on their admin dashboard to see which messages have been reported.
However, please use that function only if any messages are violating any of the guidelines on this wiki. A couple of times I've checked the reported messages on my admin dashboard, all messages have been legitimate, and it really wastes our time if there are no problems within the messages.
