Synopsis
Romeo, Robot and Robette are in the zoo to try and find a gorilla, crocodile and kangaroo. Due to Robot accidentally rotating a sign, Romeo initially walks in the wrong direction and ends up with the lions instead, who tear up his lab coat. The next day, Connor, Amaya and Greg find a piece of Romeo's lab coat and decide to investigate.
When they get to HQ that night, they find PJ Robot and the PJ Pets waiting for them. PJ Robot has discovered more about the PJ Crystal Totem and the powers it grants. Before he can tell the PJs about it, the PJ Picture Player alerts them to Romeo seemingly causing trouble in the city. The PJs, accompanied by the pets, make their way to where Romeo is. When Romeo sees the heroes, he reveals that he studied the animals in the zoo to give himself and his robots animal powers; Robette now has claws shaped like crocodile heads, Robot has robotic gorilla hands, and Romeo builds himself mechanical legs that allow him to jump like a kangaroo. However, when the villains try to show off their new powers, they fail miserably and just end up embarrassing themselves. The PJs don't consider them to be a threat and are about to retreat to HQ, but when Romeo challenges them to an animal powers contest, the PJs agree. They try to get their pets to join them, but Owly, Lionel and Alley Cat instead run off since they don't consider the fight to be important.
The PJs thus take on Romeo and his robots without their pets. First, Owlette and Robot race to a flag on top of a building, with Owlette easily winning. Gekko easily beats Robotte in a strength contest, and Catboy beats Romeo in a contest on who can leap farthest. The PJs claim the crocodile claws, gorilla hands and mechanical legs as their trophies and take them back to HQ. In HQ, they carelessly drop the confiscated inventions next to the PJ Crystal. That proves to be a mistake, as the crystal is revealed to be able to transfer animal powers to objects (which PJ Robot tried to tell the PJs about earlier). It powers up the inventions and grants them actual superpowers. The now empowered inventions fly back to Romeo, Robot and Robette, who eagerly use them to become the Baddie Bots; Gorilla Gizmo, Croco-lette, and Roo-meo.
The PJ Masks confront the Baddie Bots for a rematch, but this time find themselves outmatched by the villains. Soon, they are captured and locked in a cage. Romeo leaves with the intention to break into HQ, while the PJs realize they shouldn't have taken up Romeo's challenge to begin with. Fortunately, the PJ Pets come to their aid and steal the remote that allows the PJ Masks to open the cage. With help of their pets and their latest powers, the PJs take out the Baddie Bots and steal back the empowered inventions. Romeo and his robots retreat, while the PJs return the superpowers to the PJ Crystal. Catboy promises the pets they won't use their powers for non-important fights from now on and shout their victory cry.
