Synopsis

Part 1

The episode opens with Greg, Connor and Amaya leaving school. Connor recalls his heroics from last night and can’t wait to use his speed again. Then Greg notices multiple cars have been wrecked and stripped of various parts. Connor suspects Romeo to be the culprit, but Amaya doubts it since the tire tracks found at the crime scene don’t match those of Romeo's Lab. Connor thinks Romeo might have a new vehicle, and intends to investigate the matter that night.

So when night falls, the three friends transform and head for HQ. On the PJ Picture Player, PJ Robot shows the heroes something is moving through the city at incredible speed. The PJs take the Cat-Car to intercept this unknown vehicle, which proves more difficult than expected. When they finally catch up, the drivers of the car reveal themselves to be 2 new villains: the Speedy Twins Carly and Cartoka. They are the ones stealing car parts to improve their vehicle, the Flashcar.

The twins leave, with Catboy in pursuit, while Owlette and Gekko get their own vehicles to chase the twins. The twins prove too fast and too skilled at driving, however, and cause the PJs to crash their vehicles. The twins then break out another vehicle of theirs, the Gigantogarage, with which they steal the Owl-Glider and Gekko-Mobile, use their parts to upgrade the Flashcar, and crush the remains into cubicles. The destruction of the two vehicles somehow triggers the PJ Crystal Totem, and is also felt by the PJ Pets. PJ Robot brings the remains to HQ, but there is nothing he can do to restore the vehicles, which means only Catboy can chase the twins now.

As Catboy returns to HQ to hopefully have the Cat-Car upgraded, the twins listen in to the conversation and thus overhear Catboy mentioning that they have more vehicles in HQ. Cartoka thus breaks into HQ and steals the PJ Sub, PJ Rovers and PJ Seeker. The PJs catch him in the act just before he can take the Cat-Car, too. Gekko and Owlette follow him outside, but are held up by Carly while Cartoka takes the parts he wants from the stolen vehicles. The twins leave, and Catboy chases after them with the Cat-Car, while Owlette and Gekko can only watch.

Part 2

Owlette, PJ Robot, Gekko and the PJ Pets gather in HQ, where they all notice something is wrong with the crystal, no doubt caused by the destruction of their vehicles. Owlette calls Catboy to return, but he is determined to catch the twins. The twins suddenly open a portal back to their homeworld, Zoomzania, and Catboy is going too fast to stop and dodge it.

On Zoomzania, a planet filled with the fastest and most difficult race tracks, the twins challenge Catboy to a race. Meanwhile, in HQ, Owlette and Gekko suspect the crystal is trying to help them, just like it did when Night Ninja stole their powers. Their theory is further proven when the crystal tries to connect with them and the PJ Pets, but they need Catboy to complete whatever the crystal is planning.

Catboy loses the race, and the twins also take his Cat-Car to upgrade the Flashcar even further. They leave to get more parts, leaving Catboy stranded on Zoomzania. Owlette and Gekko finally manage to contact him, and Catboy apologizes for letting things escalate this far. He then realizes they may have lost his vehicle, but still has his own Super Cat Speed. Using this, he is able to finish the race track and open a portal back to the city. The twins see him and, for the first time, are genuinely caught off guard.

Catboy races back to HQ. With all PJs and their pets present, the crystal connects to them, and the PJs' animal spirits are released and begin to materialize from the crystal in the form of three giant animals for the PJs to ride on. With their Spirit Animals, the PJs confront the twins and manage to drive them off. The danger is over for now, but the PJs still have lost all their vehicles. Catboy assures his friends they will get them back. Now ready to take the challenge, the PJs shout their victory cry.

Moral/Lesson

  • Vehicles aren't everything. You can still be a great hero without them.
  • Speed isn't always necessary.
