CharactersThe following characters appeared in the episode "Catboy and the Butterfly Brigade":
SynopsisThe episode starts off with Zoo Day at the zoo. Connor is eager to see the lions and tigers with their physical features and actions, but Amaya and Greg decide to do that later because they want to see the butterflies first, the latter having flowers to feed them with. Although Connor is uninterested, believing them to only flap and fly around, he reluctantly follows them. However, when the kids arrive at the butterfly gardens, all of the visitors are leaving because the butterflies are missing. There is only a moth, which means Luna Girl must have taken them. That night, the PJ Masks take the Owl-Glider since they are looking for butterflies, which Catboy is in disbelief over Luna Girl taking them instead of lions or tigers. Owlette spots with her Owl Eyes a butterfly in town that must have escaped from Luna Girl. She and Gekko go up to it and try getting it to follow them; the former flying, and the latter with his colors. They are about to carefully catch it when Catboy, who becomes impatient, Super Cat Speeds to grab a butterfly net and a box with air holes and catches it himself. Owlette and Gekko complain to Catboy about being really rough with the butterfly, which is unhappy, and ask him to free it. He believes that this is the best way to catch them and spots more butterflies that have also escaped from Luna Girl. Owlette and Gekko use what they have again in hopes of catching them carefully this time. Catboy grows impatient again, so he speedily catches them in the same manner that he did with the first butterfly. He drops the box as the butterflies are upset at not being handled gently, though he still believes that he is helping them. Gekko suddenly points out Luna Girl’s moths flying away. The team searches where they are coming from until they find Luna Girl with the butterflies in her Luna Magnet on the rooftops. She is tired of her moths messing up, so she decides to use the butterflies as her sidekicks instead, even though they don’t want to. After the team arrives, the moths ask if they can stop them. She allows it, although warning that this is their last chance to prove themselves. The moths successfully catch most of the team except for Catboy. Luna Girl releases the butterflies from her Luna Magnet to catch him, but they begin to fly away. She threatens to keep them trapped in her Luna Magnet forever if they don’t comply with her demands. They approach Catboy, who is confident that they won’t hurt him since they are gentle. He uses the butterfly net a few times to catch them and places them in the box. However, as he does so, the butterflies grow more agitated from being forcibly captured. Soon, some of the butterflies escape the box as Catboy tries to place the last of them in there. He accidentally hits it while trying to catch them again, and all of the butterflies fly out, now angry. He tries convincing them that he was just trying to help them. They respond by forming a broom and pushing him away. Luna Girl is proud of what the butterflies had done, and proclaims that she doesn’t need the moths anymore. Hurt, they sadly fly away. Catboy is surprised that although the butterflies are gentle, they were able to push him away when he thought he was just helping them. Owlette and Gekko respond that it was because they were angry at him for mistreating them; therefore, their main instinct was to mistreat him back. Catboy now realizes what it feels like to be pushed around, and is ashamed to place the butterflies in that situation. Now that Luna Girl has them as her new and useful sidekicks, she commands them to capture the team. Instead, they cover her. Luna Girl attempts to trap the butterflies again in her Luna Magnet as punishment. They avoid the beams and knock it away from her, and a fight begins. The magnet starts malfunctioning after hitting the ground a few times. It turns out that they don’t appreciate Luna Girl’s attitude as well. This gives the team the opportunity to get them back. This time, Catboy promises to be nice and gentle by obtaining a flower bouquet as their food source while Owlette and Gekko use their flying and color-changing powers, respectively. One by one, the team approaches the butterflies covering Luna Girl again after another harsh command. Owlette has one group fly with her, and Gekko has another enjoy his changing colors. Catboy is the last to approach them and apologizes for mistreating them. He offers them the flower bouquet, which they accept and follow him. Although surprised of how the team was actually able to get the butterflies to follow them just by being nice, Luna Girl attempts to catch them with her Luna Magnet. It is jammed from her quarrel with them, so she asks them to return to her, but with no response. Luna Girl spots her moths by a lamppost. She commands them to get the butterflies, then again with a harsh outburst when they refuse to do so. Still hurt, they fly towards the team. Initially surprised at this, they accept their company, with Catboy promising to also be nice to them. Luna Girl is greatly depressed as a result, as she has no one to help her. The team looks back and feels almost sorry for her. A moth begins feeling sorry about leaving Luna Girl, so it turns around and gives her a kiss on the nose. The rest of the moths now have the same feeling, and they return to her. Luna Girl apologizes for her harsh behavior and attempt to replace them. She asks them to stay with her, and they confirm by giving her a hug. They happily fly away, the PJ Masks looking on as their eyes sparkle affectionately. They return the butterflies to the butterfly gardens and exclaim their signature victory phrase. The next day, the kids are in the butterfly gardens. Connor shows Amaya and Greg a couple of butterflies landing on his finger by being nice and careful. Cameron suddenly barges in and scares them away. He sarcastically remarks about being too rough with them until they tickle him. Connor advises him to be gentle, so he does so, and some of the butterflies land on him. The others land on Connor, Amaya, and Greg, and they spin around carefully. As another butterfly lands on Cameron’s nose, he soon admits that they are interesting. The kids laugh, and the episode ends. Moral/Lesson
