Synopsis
The episode opens at school. Connor, Amaya, and Greg are making drawings of the PJ Riders, which the teacher compliments them for. Then Connor notices a round disc on the floor. When he picks it up, the disc plays a holographic message from the Speedy Twins, in which they challenge the PJs to another race in Zoomzania. Amaya thinks it’s best to ignore them, but Connor wants to take the challenge since he hopes they can discourage the Twins from ever coming to the city again. Plus, he wants to prove to his friends that Cat Stripe King is the best of the PJ Riders.
So, that night, the 3 kids transform into their superhero identities, summon the PJ Riders, and head for Zoomzania. They find the Speedy Twins already waiting for them, ready to race the PJs on the toughest race track in Zoomzania. Owlette doesn’t trust it since the Twins are a bit too eager for her liking to race Catboy, but Catboy happily accepts the challenge. Reluctantly, Owlette and Gekko step aside and watch as Catboy and Cat Stripe King race the Flashcar.
The Twins win the first round, much to Catboy's dismay. To give Cat Stripe King a better chance, Eagle Owl and Power Lizard transfer their own energy to Cat Stripe King, which leaves them severely exhausted, but makes Cat Stripe King much faster. The Twins don’t seem to mind, and Owlette remains suspicious of their true intentions. Gekko begins to share her worries and asks Catboy to quit the race, to no avail. During the second round, Cat Stripe King easily outruns the Flashcar, but Catboy notices the Twins aren’t even trying to beat him. Then, as Cat Stripe King finishes the race track, a yellow crystal suddenly rises from the ground.
The Twins immediately take the crystal and connect it to the Flashcar’s engine. They reveal the crystal is a Zoom Crystal, which are hidden all over Zoomzania but only appear to those who are fast enough. And since the Flashcar was unable to reveal one, the Twins tricked Catboy into finding a crystal for them. Now that they have a crystal, the Flashcar will be faster than ever. With the improved Flashcar, the Twins open a portal to the city. Soon after, the PJs receive a distress call from PJ Robot, who warns them the Twins are wrecking the city.
Catboy realizes his mistake. Cat Stripe King gives Eagle Owl and Power Lizard their energy back to revitalize them, and the heroes head back for the city. The city is in complete chaos due to the Zoom Crystal causing all power sources around it to malfunction. Through teamwork, the PJs and their PJ Riders are able to corner and trap the Flashcar, after which Gekko removes the Zoom Crystal from it. Power Lizard throws the depowered Flashcar into the air, and it teleports back to Zoomzania. The PJs decide to lock the crystal away in HQ, and shout their victory cry.
