Synopsis

Part 1

The PJs, their PJ Riders, and Newton are in the park practicing with their powers. Newton pretends to be a villain, and the PJs "defeat" him. Afterwards, Newton takes his time to admire the PJ Riders. He wants to learn more about them, but they are interrupted by the appearance of the Speedy Twins, who are stealing stuff again. They taunt them about how they stole their vehicle parts for their Flashcar. Catboy then reminds the twins that last time they met, the PJs reclaimed their stolen vehicle parts. The twins hastily return to Zoomzania. Catboy convinces his teammates to get their repaired vehicles and follow the Twins to confront them on their home planet. Thus, they summon their vehicles and head for Zoomzania, leaving Newton and the PJ Riders behind.

Newton notices the PJ Riders are sad about being left out of the mission, and takes his time to bond with them and learn all he can about them. Then Eagle Owl senses something is wrong, and the PJ Riders leave the park to investigate, with Newton following. Meanwhile, the PJ Masks arrive on Zoomzania, manage to defeat the Speedy Twins in a race, and reclaim the object they stole: some sort of cube. When the PJs pick up the cube, however, it suddenly reveals a holographic image of what Carly claims is a map to the Ultimate Zoom Crystal. They found the cube in the museum after reading about it in books about a legendary speedster named Jasper Zoomy. Cartoka downloads the map from the cube into his wrist computer, and the Twins leave.

The PJs return to the city with the cube, and plot to find the Ultimate Zoom Crystal before the Speedy Twins can. Newton warns the PJs about the danger the PJ Riders supposedly sensed. However, they were unable to find anything. The PJs show Newton the cube.

The following day, the PJs are playing with a remote-controlled car to practice for another race against the Speedy Twins. Newton, meanwhile, is studying the PJ Pets, hoping it will give him a better understanding of the PJ Riders. Then PJ Robot calls and reveals he figured out the map.

Part 2

That night, they all suit up and meet in HQ. Before the PJs leave in their vehicles, Newton asks them to summon the PJ Riders so he can continue his study. He notices the Riders are clearly worried about something and wants at least one of the PJs to stay in HQ with them, but the PJs are too eager to go to Zoomzania, so they decline. They leave in their vehicles, with PJ Robot tagging along, while Newton stays behind with the PJ Riders, who once again head into the city.

The PJs arrive in Zoomzania and reveal to the Speedy Twins they know how to get the Ultimate Zoom Crystal. Another race follows, though Gekko isn’t fully focused as he worries about Newton and the PJ Riders. Meanwhile, in the park, the PJ Riders and Newton find Romeo's Lab, and Newton notices the lab is sending a signal to Zoomzania. Then Newton is attacked and taken captive by Night Ninja and Luna Girl, who turn out to be working with Romeo as the Terrible Trio. On Zoomzania, the race continues. The Speedy Twins eventually take out the Cat-Car with their Gigantogarage, along with the Owl-Glider and Gekko-Mobile, and complete the race first. The Ultimate Zoom Crystal appears, and the Twins immediately connect it to their Flashcar.

With the upgraded Flashcar, the Twins head for the city, leaving the PJ Masks behind on Zoomzania until PJ Robot can fix the Cat-Car. Gekko tells his teammates how he feels bad about leaving out Newton and the PJ Riders, and this is why he wasn’t focused on the mission.

Part 3

PJ Robot comes up with the plan to drain some power from the Gigantogarage to allow the PJ Vehicles to combine into the PJ Jet. The plan works, and with the jet, the heroes head back to the city. There, they notice the Twins have already caused quite some damage with their empowered Flashcar. However, the PJs notice that Carly is losing control over the Flashcar as the Zoom Crystal is too much for them to handle. With Gekko’s help, Catboy is able to board the Flashcar and remove the Zoom Crystal, which he takes back with him to the PJ Jet.

With one problem dealt with, the PJs decide to find Newton and the PJ Riders. However, just like with the Flashcar earlier, the Zoom Crystal now takes over the PJ Jet. The PJs are forced to abandon the jet before it crashes. The PJ Jet splits up into the three PJ Vehicles again, which then drive/fly away on their own. It is followed by the Flashcar, which has also taken a mind of its own and abandoned the Speedy Twins.

Catboy sends PJ Robot back to HQ to find Newton on the Picture Player, while the PJs try to get their vehicles back. The PJs and the Speedy Twins follow their out-of-control vehicles back to the park, where the heroes find themselves ambushed by Night Ninja, Luna Girl, and Romeo. They reveal everything that happened, from the library books about Jasper Zoomy to the Holographic Info Cube, was all part of their plan to gain control of the PJ Vehicles with the Ultimate Zoom Crystal, which is actually an Ultimate Control Device made by Romeo from one of Luna Girl’s lunar crystals and hidden on Zoomzania by Night Ninja.

Catboy tries to call Newton through the Listening Stone, and all three PJs try to summon the PJ Riders. Unfortunately, it’s revealed that the villains have taken the riders captive. With the control device, the villains take control over the PJ Riders and, by extent, the PJs' Riding Armor. The PJs are only able to escape by quickly ditching the armors, but are now left without their vehicles or their animals. They flee into the city, followed by the now hypnotized PJ Riders. They are able to escape them by hiding behind some trash cans. Catboy and Owlette realize Gekko was right about leaving out Newton and the Riders. With her Owl Eyes, Owlette sees that Newton is also captured by the villains, who have now taken control of the Speedy Twins' Gigantogarage, too. In the Gigantogarage, Romeo traps Newton in a force field and begins to drain his Star Power to power up the Gigantogarage for the final part of the villains’ plan: taking over the world.

Part 4

Romeo uses the power of the crystal and the Gigantogarage to turn the entire city into Romeopolis, while Night Ninja has his Ninjalinos put up a huge statue of him in the park and connects the control device to it to take control over every machine in the city. Luna Girl and Eagle Owl attack HQ and capture PJ Robot, after which Luna turns HQ into her new lair. The PJs can only hide in the park, where they run into the Speedy Twins. After explaining to the twins what is going on, they agree to all team up to bring down the Terrible Trio. They take some bicycles and a skateboard from a nearby shed as emergency vehicles and make their way to the museum and the Gigantogarage. The Speedy Twins distract Eagle Owl so the PJs can sneak into the garage and free Newton. Newton reveals to the PJs that he overheard the villains' plan, and knows the key to stopping all this is unplugging the control device crystal from Night Ninja’s statue. Gekko uses his super strength to throw Newton into space so he can recharge his powers with his asteroids, while the PJs make their way to the statue, pursued by the PJ Riders.

In the park, the PJs and the Speedy Twins work together to distract the Ninjalinos and the moths guarding the statue. Unfortunately, the PJs are captured by the PJ Riders, while the Speedy Twins are trapped by the Ninjalinos. Then Newton, now fully recharged, returns and attempts to destroy the control device. Romeo summons the PJ vehicles and the Flashcar to the park, along with every car in the city. Newton is not strong enough to destroy the crystal. He urges the PJs to try and snap their riders out of the Terrible Trio’s control. While the PJs talk to their Riders to get them to remember who they are, cracks begin to form in the alliance of the Terrible Trio as Romeo, Night Ninja, and Luna Girl argue over who gets the remote control for the vehicles. The PJs succeed, and the PJ Riders break free from the control device. Together, they topple over Night Ninja’s statue and break the control device. With the crystal broken, Romeo loses all control over the vehicles and Romeopolis.

All three villains are captured by the PJ Riders, and their alliance falls apart as they begin to blame each other for the failure of the plan. They break up and flee the scene. The Speedy Twins also leave with their reclaimed vehicles. The PJs have learned that their friends mean more than their vehicles. Along with Newton and the PJ Riders, they shout their victory cry.

Moral/Lesson

  • Listen to others.
  • Care about your friends; they are more important than material value.
  • It's the driver that makes the hero, not the vehicle itself.
