La Légende des Pyjamasques (English: The Legend of the Pyjamasques) is the twentieth book of Les Pyjamasques which was published by Éditions Gallimard on January 25, 2016.
A legend tells that each child is connected to an animal-totem and that at night, these animals appear in dreams to the children to give them magic gifts. One day, Sorceline the witch decided to seize their powers. She captured, in a thick cloud of insects, all the animal-totems. The children ended up forgetting them until they did not dream anymore. However, one night, three animal-totems escaped from the cloud of insects! They promised to return with "brave heroes" to free everyone. Sorceline, furious, struck them with her lightning. They managed to flee to the Earth and fell "today" on three young children! Neither the strongest nor the bravest, perhaps even the most clumsy, but surely the friendliest.
Yoyo, Bibou and Gluglu are the first three heroes to be seen de-transforming to their civilian identity (though it happens offscreen; the text only reads at the end of the story that they've done this by releasing their animal totems).
This is the first book to contain partial nudity, which could be suggestive/inappropriate for some readers.
This is the third appearance of the Dreamworld.
Sacha's cowardly behavior, as well as Amaya being unable to balance, and Greg's quirky and strange personality trait may have been inspired by their contemporary counterparts' personalities from the PJ Masks television series.
