Synopsis

The episode begins in the park where Connor, Amaya, and Greg are having their picnic. With them is Greg’s pet, Lionel, whom Greg plays fetch with and lovingly takes care of. He feeds him new lizard treats, and throws one for him to fetch. Lionel runs off to search for the treat, and something suddenly glows. The kids run to the source of the light to see that he has disappeared. All that is left behind is a giant-sized animal print. At night, the PJ Masks look at the PJ Picture Player to look for any signs of Lionel. What shows up instead is a trail of destruction in the city.

The PJ Masks take off in the Owl-Glider to search for Lionel and get a better view of the town. The team hears a roaring sound, and they land to check it out. They find that the source of destruction is actually Lionel, who is now turned into a giant-sized pet. The cause of his growth is Romeo, who reveals that the treats that Gekko fed him earlier were actually his pet brand of Biggie Chews, which took him about a year to create a tasty batch. He is planning to feed the city animals his pet treats so he can have own giant pet army to take over the world. The only way to change Lionel and any other animal back to normal-sized is by feeding them his batch of Shrinky Snacks.

Catboy and Owlette get ready to take on Romeo and Lionel. Gekko stops them, saying that Lionel is his best buddy, not a monster, and volunteers to talk to him. Gekko reaches out to Lionel, who gets excited. Wanting to play fetch, he grabs a streetlight and throws it. Owlette blows it away before it could hit the Owl-Glider. Once Gekko catches it, Catboy climbs up to Lionel’s head and speedily runs around. He gets dizzy, and Gekko catches him before he falls, but his weight is making him struggle to hold him up. Romeo feeds Lionel some more of his pet treats to make him bigger, and Owlette blows Gekko away before he could get crushed under the weight.

The PJ Masks run back to headquarters to think of a better plan. While there, Gekko argues with Catboy and Owlette about Lionel and his actions. Owlette suggests getting a leash to pull Lionel out of the city before he could cause any more damage, and Catboy grabs a giant rope. Gekko begins to protest, knowing that Lionel does not like leashes since he is not used to them, until Romeo and Lionel come into view, the villain scolding him for eating the treats that he is trying to feed the other animals.

The PJ Masks run towards Lionel with the giant rope. Robot grabs it to stop them, until Lionel grabs on as well, thinking that it is a game of tug-of-war and wants to have fun. Gekko begins to speak kindly to him, but he throws the PJ Masks. Now kind of convinced that Catboy and Owlette are right about Lionel being out of control, he grabs the rope, walks towards his beloved pet, and reluctantly leashes him. This action causes Lionel to be heartbroken, and he throws his best buddy away into the moat. With the PJ Masks out of the action, Romeo and Robot board him, and they march over towards HQ.

Lionel walks over to Catboy and Owlette, who have run over to the gates to see Gekko land in the water. To their surprise, before he barges through, he gently pushes them out of his way. Realizing that Gekko was right about Lionel still being the lovable buddy that the team knows, they run over to the moat to pull Gekko out and apologize, while he apologizes about what he did. To make up for it, he comes up with a plan and runs off.

Lionel climbs up HQ to crush the structure. When he reaches the top, Gekko returns with a huge stick in his hands. He apologizes to him about not sticking by him. He promises to make sure their times together will be just like before, and he throws the stick so they could play fetch. Lionel is elated again, and he jumps off HQ to fetch. Romeo tries to regain control of him, but to no avail. His pet snacks fall out of his and Robot’s hands, and they are thrown in the water. Robot short-circuits, and Romeo sails away, swearing to get the PJ Masks next time.

Lionel reunites with the team with the huge stick. He gives Gekko a lick, and the PJ Masks express their love for him. They apologize about the way they acted earlier towards him, and give him the Shrinky Snacks that they caught. Lionel returns back to his normal size, and they celebrate their victory. The next day, Connor, Amaya, and Greg are back at the park for another picnic. Greg plays fetch with Lionel again, but the kids hear him squeak. It turns out that he found another huge stick. The kids playfully tease him, and they share a laugh together, ending the episode.
