Synopsis
The episode begins with Connor and Amaya excited about another mission in the PJ Seeker tonight and getting the chance to see more of its features. However, Greg is concerned about Lionel because he appears weary. Thinking that he must be bored staying in his vivarium all day, he offers him to come with them, which he accepts. Arriving at HQ, he introduces him to PJ Robot working on the vehicle when the PJ Picture Player suddenly senses something at the bookstore.
Gekko becomes distracted by Lionel acting weird again, then joins the team in the PJ Seeker, still concerned about him. The scanner pulls up the bookstore, although nothing’s going on outside. Additionally, no one’s inside, and everything’s in place. Upon hearing a meow, they find Alley Cat, which captures Catboy’s attention for a brief moment before they leave to find the mystery villain, despite its attempts to warn him about something. Once they take off, the unknown person approaches it.
As the team orients themselves to the PJ Seeker’s features and Gekko tries to calm a jumpy Lionel down, the scanner detects something at the museum. They search the area and find nothing out of place except a dinosaur bone by the steps and a bird awake at the top of the building. Although Owlette focuses on it, she presumes that it must be collecting some materials for its nest. After the team drives off, Luna Girl comes in and offers it a moon-shaped pet treat. Meanwhile, Gekko questions about the bird’s behavior, as well as Lionel’s and Alley Cat’s.
The scanner then detects activity by the Toy Shop, but the villain gets away again. Left behind are some missing model cars from a display and a partially-eaten animal treat. Suddenly, the team understands the reason why they kept getting distracted, as well as starting to feel something inside their hearts: the animals that they’ve encountered are their PJ Spirit Animals. Once PJ Robot informs them that Lionel is gone, they also realize that the mission was to listen to them because something was wrong, and they’ve failed to do so.
Utilizing the PJ Seeker’s technology for clues, the team drives around until they detect activity in the park. As soon as they arrive with PJ Robot staying behind, they see Luna Girl feeding her Luna treats to the animals, which quickly run over to them. It reveals that she was bribing them in exchange for stealing various items such as toys and a dinosaur skeleton for her Lunar Fortress, resulting in their abnormal behaviors. She also explains that since Motsuki stole her moths (the group appearing shortly), she’s stealing everyone’s pets.
In the girls’ following argument on whose pets are better, Luna Girl traps the animals in her Luna Magnet when they refuse to come to her. Irritated by her attitude towards her, Motsuki zaps her and takes the animals for herself. Gekko tries to save them, but when he gets captured, Catboy and Owlette try to save him, only for them to also get captured after bumping into Luna Girl trying to get the animals. Motsuki then proceeds to fly everyone to the moon so she can have them as her pets.
This time, the team contacts their Spirit Animals for help. Working together, the two groups take down Motsuki and crash into each other to break themselves free. Luna Girl and Motsuki attempt to recapture the animals, only for them to capture each other while everyone else escapes. As the villains float away with the moths and PJ Robot regroups with the PJ Masks, they praise their PJ Animals and promise to listen to them in the future. After Gekko playfully scolds Lionel upon offering him another ride in the PJ Seeker, everyone proclaims the signature victory phrase.
