Synopsis
The PJs and Newton are returning from a space mission in their HQ rocket ship. Newton notices he needs to visit his asteroids to recharge his powers and leaves the rocket. Before he can get to them, however, his path is blocked by Romeo and his Sky Factory. Romeo unleashes a swarm of Fly Bots to prevent Newton from reaching his asteroid, and opens fire on him with a ray gun. Newton tries to fight back, but his powers are fading. Romeo mocks Newton for the fact that he will soon be powerless, and that he's not as smart as everyone thinks, before blasting him with the ray gun and sending him spiraling back to Earth. Newton crashes in the park, and reverts back to his civilian identity. Saddened by the loss of his powers and convinced he's of no use to the PJs without his powers, Newton returns home.
The following day, Connor, Amaya and Greg meet Newton in the bookstore and try to convince him he's still a hero, powers or no powers. They have a plan to take HQ into space next night and get past the Fly Bots, but Newton is not interested in coming along as he can't help. That night, the PJs put their plan into action and take Romeo head-on, while Newton keeps an eye on them from his room through a telescope. The PJs take out a group of Fly Bots and manage to hit the Sky Factory with some furballs from their rocket. The furballs, however, appear to do more damage than intended, and the PJs fear they may have gone too far. They leave the rocket and board the Sky Factory to see if Romeo is okay, but it turns to be a trap, and all three are captured in a force field by Fly Bots. Romeo then shoots the rocket ship and causes it to crash in the park.
Netwon has seen the whole thing and realizes he can't just stay home and do nothing. He hurries to the park. In the Sky Factory, Romeo shows the captured PJs his new invention: the Neutralizer. It's not ready yet, but when it is, it will take the PJs' powers and dispose of them forever. As Romeo prepares the Neutralizer with little success since the machine keeps malfunctioning, Newton and PJ Robot work on fixing the rocket ship. When they're done, PJ Robot tries to convince Newton to come with him to save the PJs. Newton is still reluctant. Then Romeo calls him on the video screen and gloats how he will soon take the PJs' powers. This finally convinces Newton.
Newton and PJ Robot thus take the rocket ship back into space and first target the Flying Factory's ray gun with a furball, causing the gun to blast the factory itself. This in turn causes the Flying Factory to short-circuit, and the PJs are freed from the force field. They escape from the factory and head back to the rocket ship. Since Newton still can't get to his asteroids on his own, Owlette takes Newton's Emblem and takes it to the asteroids for him. The emblem is recharged and Newton can finally transform again. He easily defeats Romeo by blasting the Sky Factory back to Earth. Now fully redeemed and with the asteroids back in possession, the heroes shout their victory cry.
Moral/Lesson
- Even without powers, you can still be a hero.
Trivia
- Newton Star says the first part of the victory chant for the fourth time: "PJ Masks, all shout 'hooray'!".
- Newton starts the PJs' fist bump without joining for the first time.
- Newton flies the PJ Rocket for the first time.
- Romeo's Flying Factory enters space for the fifth time.
- The Neutralizer is introduced in this episode.
- This is the first time Newton's emblem has been seen as a separate object, detached from his super suit. It is also the first time Newton is seen holding it while in his civilian identity.
- The PJ Masks' chant before the transformation sequence is modified in this episode by Newton: "PJ Masks, you're on your way!"
- This episode is similar to "Catboy No More" since both episodes have characters (specifically Catboy and Newton Star) trying to save the day without their powers.
- But unlike that episode, it doesn't feature the character reverting back to their civilian identity.
