Synopsis
The episode begins with the PJ Masks returning to HQ after a mission involving Romeo. As they head inside, they see a glow in the moat. The next day, Greg researches what it might be in the library. Connor and Amaya suggest it might be more power pondweed, which gave him extra powers last time. They promise to be with him all the way.
That night, the team goes underwater to take a closer look at what made the glow in the moat. The source moves around until it boards the Gekko-Mobile, revealing to be an octopus girl and startling them. They swim back up to the surface, where she introduces herself as Octobella and her shrimp friend, Percival, who she hangs out and plays with. She explains that she doesn’t come up much because she’s busy collecting crystals; however, she does get lonely, even with Percival, so she came up to make new friends. The team accepts her as their new friend.
Octobella brings out three glowing orbs, one for Percival to play with. Catboy and Owlette chase the other two and are entranced by how they glow and fizz when touched. As they play, they explain to Octobella about the power pondweed that gave Gekko new powers in the moat a while ago. After appearing to go in a trance, she offers to help him find it and show her crystal collection. Although he is afraid of what lies underwater and looks at his friends, he accepts the offer, and they swim down to find an orange crystal.
However, after Octobella gives Gekko the crystal to look at, she disappears and swims behind a rock, where she fires a Crystal Current that swirls him around, causing him to drop it. While Percival retrieves it, Gekko swims out to tell the others what happened. Octobella falsely accuses him of messing with her crystal, releasing its powers and losing it, and claims that he’s not a friend. Gekko tries to raise his suspicions about her, but Catboy and Owlette believe she’s nice and assure her that he’s a friend and he’ll find her crystal.
After Octobella gives Catboy and Owlette more orbs, she swims with Gekko back underwater, retrieves the crystal from Percival, and summons another Crystal Current that sends Gekko to her crystal garden. She takes out another crystal and uses it to trap him. Believing that he stole the power pondweed, declaring that it belongs to her since it grew in the moat, she intends to keep him trapped in her garden forever. She swims back up to play with Catboy and Owlette and be friends with them.
When Octobella surfaces and greets Catboy and Owlette, though, they ask where’s Gekko. She attempts to stop them from talking about him by offering to be their friend instead and giving more orbs to play with. Nothing works, so she tells them about trapping him in her crystal garden forever for stealing the power pondweed. Catboy and Owlette go underwater in the Gekko-Mobile, then swim towards her place to save him and redeem their promise of being there for him, despite her attempts to throw them off course. She catches up and takes out the crystals, intent on trapping them as well for refusing to play with her.
Owlette blows Octobella away, causing her to drop the crystals. Catboy retrieves them and swims towards Gekko, but is knocked down by the force of Percival’s Snappy Snap ability. Owlette grabs them and places them on the crystal traps to make them weak enough for Gekko to break free. The PJ Masks swim out of the crystal garden before Octobella can capture them and return to the surface as the glowing orbs disappear. They affirm their promise of being there for each other and shout out their signature victory phrase.
Underwater, Octobella disappears in her lair, swearing vengeance towards Gekko.
