Synopsis
The episode starts off with the class growing sunflowers. Amaya’s is wilting, so Connor and Greg offer to help her with what they’ve learned since gardening club last summer. She declines, nervously claiming that she’s a gardening natural, and goes over to get some gardening equipment. When she opens the shed, it’s empty except for a couple of moths flying out. That night, figuring that Luna Girl may be in the park, the PJ Masks fly over there to see her growing a huge plant, which they almost crash into.
Luna Girl explains the plant to be her moonflower; once the pod opens, hundreds of seeds will be released and grow into more moonflowers, following a domino effect until Earth is covered with them, leaving no more room for other flowers to grow. Considering Catboy and Gekko’s warning to dig all the roots out, else one left behind will grow into another moonflower, Owlette suggests that they all dig them out at once. She grabs a shovel and flies over, although the plant captures her. Catboy distracts Luna Girl while Gekko sneaks over and frees Owlette. The team then takes cover in the bushes.
Catboy has another idea; since the moonflower only grows in the dark, the Owl-Glider’s beams can be used to shrink it. Insisting that she knows about gardening, Owlette wants to try digging again with the aircraft’s claws, this time flying around the weed and avoiding the branches. Luna Girl sees her flying over and tangles her again. As Gekko uses his Super Gekko Muscles to pull Owlette out, Catboy hits the Luna Magnet away from Luna Girl, then takes the hit when the moths give it back to her. Owlette is eventually freed, Catboy is released, and the team falls back again.
Just as Gekko encourages using water to shrink the moonflower, Owlette grabs the hose and lassos the weed to pull it down, still insisting that she knows about gardening. Despite trying to stop her, Catboy takes care of Luna Girl while Gekko takes care of the moths. One moth tickles Owlette’s nose, causing her to loosen her grip on the hose and get flung into the bushes. Soon, after receiving enough nighttime Luna Beams, the moonflower blooms and releases the seeds that instantly grow into more moonflowers upon hitting the ground. Luna Girl leaves to provide nighttime Luna Beams for the other moonflowers.
Owlette realizes it’s all her fault; even though she didn’t go to the gardening club and should have asked for help, she wanted to show how much she knew about gardening, which resulted in Luna Girl creating her moonflower garden. She finally listens to Catboy and Gekko on what to do, and when Gekko mentions the wind blowing the seeds, she gets an idea and asks for any gardening tips.
In the Owl-Glider, Gekko flies around to gather all the moonflower seeds, and Owlette blows them into the trash can Catboy is holding. Luna Girl, who is hooked on a moonflower after getting blown away, attempts to grow the existing moonflowers. Catboy and Owlette grab some watering cans and water some of them while Gekko shines the Owl-Glider beams on the others. The moonflowers wither away, and after Owlette catches Luna Girl, she flies away, defeated. The PJ Masks proclaim their signature victory phrase.
A few days later, Amaya’s sunflower blooms into full health. She is given the award for the best sunflower, which she declares to be also Connor and Greg’s as a thank-you for their gardening help.
