Notes

  • Pyjamasques literally means "pyjama masks," with pyja being short for pyjama.
  • Les Pyjamasques is occasionally used as an alternate title.
  • In France 5's, France 4's and France 3's Zouzous/Okoo airings, the intro is shortened and features three silhouettes of the PJ Masks daytime identities saying their French names of their superhero identities at the beginning of the intro.
  • The French names for the PJ Masks and Romeo originated in the original Pyjamasques book adaptation.
  • In various episodes, the dialogue has been rewritten to match the characters' French portrayals, additional dialogue has been added, and parts of the dialogue has been altered or omitted based on the visible actions made by the characters in the show as well as making their actions look more dynamic and realistic at the same time.
  • The French voice portrayals of the heroes, villains, and the entire cast of characters (as of Season 2 and onwards) are changed to have the characters match their book counterparts' personalities. Examples include:
    • The PJ Masks voices and acting is changed to match with their book counterpart's personalities.
      • Catboy's voice is changed to sound more energetic.
      • Owlette's voice is changed to sound more excited and happy-go-lucky.
      • Gekko's voice is changed to sound more gruff and tough than his English voice portrayal.
    • Romeo's voice is changed to sound that of a stereotypical mad scientist's voice, as seen in Season 2.
    • Luna Girl's voice and personality are changed to be more grumpy than spoiled, and she tends to grumble and complain instead of throwing a temper tantrum.
    • Motsuki's voice and personality is changed to have her say third-person perspectives more often than her English portrayal, and she tends to giggle more frequently when happy.
    • Night Ninja's voice and personality is changed to be more militaristic and is able to shout out proper military commands and formations (e.g. Ninja Pyramid) to his Ninjalinos.
    • Armadylan's voice and personality are changed to sound more aggressive in tone (in some cases).
  • The dub eliminates direct references from the comics by Marvel, specifically the names of the characters, vehicles etc.
    • The dub would rename most of the characters after folkloric figures, depending on the characters close physical resemblance to the folkloric figure. Examples include:
      • Luna Girl being renamed to Sorceline since she resembles a witch.
      • Munki-gu renamed to Chumacak as his costume design resembles that of the Native American tribes.
      • Octobella renamed to Gorgonella as her tentacles on her head resemble that of the Gorgons and Medusa from Greek mythologies.
  • Unlike the English dub, the French dub's voice actors are more consistent, as the producers would replace a voice actor after they have reached the end of puberty rather than the beginning of puberty.
