The Pyjamasques, formerly known as Les Pyjamasques, are the three main protagonists of their own series of picture books.
History
Long before the events of the book series, the Pyjamasques met each other in school, and were originally average children.
In "La Légende des Pyjamasques", during the events after Sorceline used her powers to capture the animal totems, three totem animals escaped from capture in which they proclaimed their promise to find three children who would bring back their legend.
Thanks to Sorceline injuring the totem animals with her magnet's lightning powers, they unintentionally landed at Sacha, Amaya and Greg's homes and chose the kids to revive their legend. As of this, they would become Yoyo, Bibou and Gluglu.
During their first encounter with Sorceline, they would learn that according to their legend, they had to help rescue the rest of the kids' totem animals.
Eventually, they succeeded on freeing the totem animals to revive the legend, and banished Sorceline and the rest of her Mitomites inside her magical sack from returning to steal the rest of the children's totem animals again.
Book description
While everyone sleeps, three little masked heads poke out the tips of their noses! These are Les Pyjamasques! Instead of being in bed, they wander at night. Yoyo leaps and bounces everywhere like a rubber ball, Gluglu runs on the walls without ever breaking his figure, and Bibou, thanks to her wings, flies in the sky!
These children are not sleepy! As soon as night falls, they put on their strange pajamas. And here they are outside playing like acrobats! But do they not know that when the moon is round, other creatures roam in the dark and roar?
Motive
By night, the Pyjamasques set out to face villains to stop them messing with the day.
Generally, the villains they often fight largely ranges from monsters, witches, thieves and various individuals that originate from folklore and look like a big nightmare. There are some cases where they fight other villains who have little to no connections to folklore such as Roméo Mécano, Les Mascrapules or Gatzo.
Members
The Pyjamasques consist of:
- Yoyo (Sacha): A kid in a cat-costume with acrobatic agility and super-speed. He drives the Chat-Bolide. His magic pajamas are light blue and has ears and a tail.
- Bibou (Amaya): A girl in a owl-costume with flying abilities and a special ability to shoot feathers from the owl wings. She is the only female member of the group and flies the Astro-Hibou. Her magic pajamas are red and has an owl mask with feathered wings on her back.
- Gluglu (Greg): A boy in a lizard-costume with the ability to stick at walls and ceilings, the ability to camouflage, and is the most efficient on hand-to-hand combat. He drives the Reptilo-Mobile.
- Pyja-Robot: The fourth member of the group. Currently, nothing is known about him right now as he hasn't debuted in the picture books yet, except that he appeared in the official Les Pyjamasques coloring wall.
Personality
Personal behavior and traits
In general, the Pyjamasques tend to be funny, mischievous, playful, generous and friendly. They tend to show a sense of adventure on discovering and experiencing mythologies and legends during their adventures such as Egyptian mythologies.
They have feats that replicates the Classical Mythology hero, Heracles (Hercules). They are capable on using their wits when their powers are not sufficient to defeat the villains easily, such as mocking Roméo Mécano to have him destroy his own Robot Demolisher in order to stop him from demolishing their school, tricking Sorceline from stealing all of the children's birthday gifts for her own birthday, to distracting Apophis from swallowing the Solar Disc. This implies that the heroes are able to put in extra effort on saving the day quicker.
Unlike the PJ Masks, the Pyjamasques are willing to punish the villains for their antagonistic acts by following Classical Mythology heroic standards which brought more ultimate and satisfying results on defeating villains in one big swoop than the PJ Masks:
- In "Les Pyjamasques au zoo", Gatzo was imprisoned in a cage by the heroes (with the help of the freed animals of the zoo), then they banished him from doing any harm to the animals by attaching several balloons to his cage and flew away out of sight.
- In "Les Pyjamasques et Roméo Mécano", Les Pyjamasques defeated Roméo Mécano by allowing Grogarou to change back to his werewolf form and flung him and his invention to deep outer space, with some help from the zodiac constellations.
- In "La Légende des Pyjamasques", Sorceline was trapped in her magical bag and had her costume fed to the Mitomites for imprisoning everyone's animal totems.
- In "Les Pyjamasques et la graine d'Orticia", the heroes threatened Orticia that she'll be planted in a flower pot and tangled to Yoyo's stripes.
- In "Les Pyjamasques et la momie d’Apophis, Tome II", Les Pyjamasques (specifically Yoyo and Gluglu) managed to distract Apophis from swallowing the Sun Disc by stealing his sceptre. While chasing the trio, Apophis was ultimately defeated by the heroes when his mummy strips were caught and unravelled by his chariot, causing him to disappear to oblivion (except for the remains of his mummy strips).
As revealed in "Les Pyjamasques et le robot-blizzard", when idle, they will search for a villain to fight by desperate means.
There are most times where Les Pyjamasques have a mischievous, but otherwise funny attitude and qualities towards the other characters (especially heroes and villains);
- In "Les Pyjamasques et le père Noël rebelle", the heroes decided to do a prank on Santa Claus by giving him a decoy letter containing sneezing powder.
- In "Les Pyjamasques et la soupe à la citrouille", the heroes worked with a Pumpkin Monster to scare Lilifée in retaliation of her sending them to a pumpkin garden (as an excuse of getting peace).
- In "Les Pyjamasques et le robot-blizzard", the heroes teased Roméo Mécano of him acting nice to the trio on helping them defeat his own robot, and that they will tell everyone about it.
- As of "Les Pyjamasques et l'opération zéro" onwards, they generally mock the appearance of Roméo Mécano's hair and how he is a failure on reciting schoolwork.
- In "La Légende des Pyjamasques", in response to Sorceline attempting to seize Les Pyjamasques costumes by using with her Mitomites, Yoyo used her magnet against the sorceress by commanding the Mitomites to eat her costume entirely (sans mask).
- In "Les Pyjamasques et la momie d’Apophis, Tome II", Yoyo and Gluglu mocked the appearance of Apophis and his mummy strips while mstealing his sceptre from preventing him swallowing the sun disc that is guarded by Bastet.
- In "Le cristal des Pyjamasques", Les Pyjamasques had fun taunting their rivals (Les Mascrapules) while heading to their Totem Base. Then in the end of the book, thanks to Bibou, they managed to use Les Mascrapules' ghost disguise in order to play a prank on them in response to the villains stealing their crystal.
