Season 5 is the fifth season of PJ Masks. On January 28, 2020, sources confirmed that the fifth season was in production. The source confirmed that they have started shooting on April 1, 2020 and ended on April 1, 2021. The season premiered in the U.S. on August 13, 2021 with a 2-part story arc and concluded in the U.S. on November 18, 2022. These include: New characters: the PJ Riders (Cat Stripe King, Eagle Owl, and Power Lizard), Owly, Orticia, the Pumpkins, Pirate Robot, Flybot Sally, and the Speedy Twins (Carly and Cartoka). New vehicles: the Luna Kazoomer, Spanner of the Skies, Gigantogarage, and the Flashcar. New locations: Zoomzania. New suits, gadgets and powers for the PJ Masks, in addition to PJ Masks Headquarters taking on an updated appearance. New episode categories: Pirate Power and Animal Power (this season only). Octobella also gets new mechanical legs called Octo-Legs forcibly made by PJ Robot. The season included the PJs learning more about their Spirit Animals/PJ Riders. Some of the voice actors for Season 3 - Season 4 have been replaced in this season. Roman Lutterotti, who was the voice of Catboy, was replaced by Evan O'Donnell. Simon Pirso, who was the voice of Romeo, was replaced by Callum Shoniker. Tyler Nathan, who was the voice of Cameron, was replaced by Luxton Handspiker. This is the first season to feature understudy voice actors, likely due to production during the pandemic. According to an exclusive meeting, there was another Halloween special, marking this the second season that features a Halloween special since "Halloween Tricksters" in Season 2. This was the first season where Armadylan is fully absent. He is also the first recurring character to be taken out of the show. This was the second season to end with 25 episodes instead of 26, with the first being the previous season. This season included two storylines that extended for more than one episode. One was Luna Girl and Motsuki's feud on living on the moon with each other from "Luna Goes Too Far" to "Luna's Moon Attack." Motsuki stayed on the moon, while Luna was stuck on Earth. Another was the PJ Masks losing their vehicles to the Speedy Twins in their debut episode until "The PJ Riders Save the Day." This is the last season to have: The original logo. Its original theme song and end credits. Both of which had been used since Season 1. References
