Synopsis
The episode starts off with Connor, Amaya, and Greg looking at an ancient dragon gong at the museum, which contains the Mystery Mountain symbol like the one in the pagoda. According to the legend, there is a special mallet to strike the gong with in order to release its special powers, which has been lost for centuries until now. It is coming in tonight, though there is a chance that Night Ninja may steal it at that time.
That night, the PJ Masks read some more information: when the gong is struck at the last stroke of midnight, a dragon is released. It is forced to obey the person who struck the gong until the mallet is returned. The PJ Picture Player suddenly picks up Night Ninja and his Ninjalinos breaking into the museum. Since it’s almost midnight, and the dragon hasn’t been reunited with the mallet for a long time, the PJ Masks head over to stop the ninjas and help the dragon before the last stroke comes.
Night Ninja and his Ninjalinos bring the dragon gong outside the museum and take out the special mallet. Midnight comes, and the PJ Masks arrive, but the last stroke chimes before they could interfere. Night Ninja strikes the gong to release the dragon, and he gains control. Under his command, the dragon sends sonic waves to push the PJ Masks away. She then tells Night Ninja to return the mallet, but he claims he’ll do so after one more command.
The PJ Masks recover as the dragon goes back inside the gong. Since they cannot get close enough to retrieve the mallet, Catboy and Gekko distract Night Ninja from hitting the gong again while Owlette blows the ninjas away. Night Ninja quickly hits the gong, though, and the dragon protects him in a golden bubble. He hits it again, and the dragon blows Owlette away with her dragon breath. Catboy saves her while Gekko catches them.
Catboy uses his Cat Ears to listen to what Night Ninja is saying; he hears that even if the PJ Masks are defeated, the villain will never give the mallet back, which means the dragon will never be free of his command. Catboy speeds over to grab the mallet, only for the dragon to trap him in a golden bubble when Night Ninja strikes the gong. Gekko barely manages to catch him when it pops.
The dragon becomes agitated because she is still under Night Ninja’s control, and he won’t reunite her with the mallet. When Gekko mentions silencing the gong, Owlette gets an idea, and the PJ Masks briefly leave. This leads Night Ninja to think that they’ve finally given up in defeating him and is confident that he’ll defeat them some more with the dragon obeying him. He gets ready to strike the gong when the Cat-Car returns, but Catboy is the only one inside.
Owlette fires her Super Owl Feathers at the ninjas from the sky. Night Ninja deflects them with the mallet as the Ninjalinos jump away. Meanwhile, Gekko enables his camouflage ability and sneaks over to the gong. He appears and holds it with his Super Gekko Muscles, and the vibrations cause Night Ninja to drop the mallet when he hits the gong. Catboy obtains it and throws it to Owlette.
Owlette promises the dragon that her mallet will be returned once she is given one more command. Owlette hits the gong, and under her request, the dragon blows the ninjas away from the museum. Owlette thanks the dragon for her help and reunites the gong with the mallet. The dragon thanks them, and the PJ Masks return the gong to the museum, where they then celebrate their victory.
